As a Clinical Care Coordinator, Verne provides technical assistance and guidance to member centers on clinically oriented matters/efforts, including policy and procedures, quality improvement, risk management, patient centered medical home, and practice transformation by telephone, email, videoconference, or on site. In addition, he obtains and provides resources on matters that are specific to an individual centers needs and participates in group discussion TACHC Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, Clinicians and OC34L Listservs. Verne has been working at TACHC since 2007, and continues to be instrumental in the coordination of participating teams and faculty activities related to the OC3 Learning Year. He is a member of a variety of stakeholder groups such as the, Test Texas HIV Coalition, Patient Centered Medical Home Workgroup and the Texas Oral Health Coalition. 'Prior to joining TACHC in 2007, he was a Chief Operating Officer of a federally qualified health center for 9 years coordinating the administration of federal and state grants, the Joint Commission (re)accreditation activities and supervised the operations of medical records, laboratory, pharmacy, dental and behavioral health service lines. He was the Team Leader for the Senior Leadership, Diabetes Collaborative and Access redesign initiatives. Previous employment positions held were Program Director of a children's diagnostic program, Adolescent Psychiatric Case Manager, Adult Brain Injury Case Manager, Pediatric Social Worker and a Special Handicapped Occupational Education Teacher.
