Safety During COVID-19 and After: An Emergency Management Train the Trainer Program- East Region
With the unexpected influence of COVID-19 in the healthcare workplace, formal and consistent safety training is an essential piece to keeping patients, staff, and their families safe and healthy. In the early months of the pandemic, health centers expressed multiple needs for training and support. Those included ‘Respirator FIT Testing’ and ‘Respiratory Protection Program’ development/compliance, ‘Personal Protective Equipment’ (PPE) training, and ‘Infectious Disease and other Pathogens’ training.
TACHC has partnered with Maestro Services, a Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council (SETRAC) subsidiary, to provide health centers the “Safety During COVID-19 and After: Emergency Management Train the Trainer program.” One training will be conducted VIRTUALLY in each of the 6 TACHC Regions. The goal of this multi-topic training is to provide health center staff a comprehensive training manual, divided into (3) training modules: Respiratory Protection Plan, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Infectious Disease and Pathogen trainings, that can be taught to current and incoming staff as needed by the health center.
The regional trainings will be held on the dates below. Please register and attend the training that corresponds to your health center’s TACHC Region. See the TACHC Statewide & Regional Maps here. If you are unable to attend the training scheduled in your region, you may register for any available training date. To register for another region, return back to the main Events page and select which region you want to attend. To receive the Train the Trainer toolkit, health center designated trainer must attend the entire 6 hour training.
