Recruitment and Retention

Without an adequate clinical workforce, health centers cannot run their businesses efficiently or provide care to those who need it most. TACHC understands that health centers experience frequent vacancies and significant challenges in recruiting and retaining providers. TACHC's goal is to help centers overcome those challenges and fill their vacancies with high caliber medical professionals who have a community mindset. The association provides members with a substantial pool of qualified provider candidates and helps them develop the internal capacity to recruit and retain providers.

TACHC's recruitment and retention staff is responsible for sourcing candidates and conducting background checks on medical professionals. In addition to maintaining a database of providers, staff also manages the online job bank available on the TACHC website. TACHC staff markets community health center opportunities at state and national conferences, career fairs, and residency programs. The association also partners with the National Health Service Corps and J-1 Visa programs. The recruitment services provided by TACHC are intended to complement the recruitment services of each health center, not replace them. TACHC differs from traditional recruitment firms by referring on an ongoing basis qualified candidates sourced from the association's in house database. TACHC provides health centers with choice and flexibility, offering a greater selection of medical professionals from a pre-screened candidate pool, rather than being limited to one or two applicants for a given position. While centers may still choose to supplement their efforts by utilizing a recruitment firm, TACHC can provide tremendous savings for single or multiple placements, as our cost is much lower than the average charged by an outside recruitment firm.
