Frequently Asked Questions

A new employee needs an email account, how can I get this set up?
Email Lee Davila at the TACHC Office with your request. Please include the employee's name and preferred password.

A staff member needs to access their email while away from our clinic/office, how can I make this happen?
Please email Lee Davila

While doing business-related work on the internet, a user got an 'TACHC ACCESS DENIED' message, what does mean and how can this person be granted access to the intended website?
An "ACCESS DENIED" message means that the content being requested was categorized by the internet monitoring vendor and TACHC restricts access to web content in this category. If the material is business-related, please contact Lee Davila or Todd Radloff at the TACHC office.

Why can't our users listen to streaming audio "radio stations" or jukeboxes over the TACHC internet connection?
These services use large amounts of bandwidth, which lessens the ability of others to effectively use the TACHC network for business-related computing.

Our clinic's Dept. of Human Services Outstationed Eligibility Worker is experiencing PC-related difficulties, who is responsible for assisting them with this issue?
PC-related issues should be directed to the center's information systems staff member.

Our clinic's Dept. of Human Services Outstationed Eligibility Worker is experiencing wide-area network, DHS server, AREV or Novell difficulties, who is responsible for assisting them with this issue?
These issues should be reported to DHS Product Support in Austin. 512-438-4741 or 512-438-5222.

We would like to videoconference with more than one other party, how can we accomplish this?
Please call Todd Radloff or Lee Davila at the TACHC office to schedule your multi-party videoconference.

I need to set up a new computer at our site, what steps do I take to configure it?
In the computer's operating system (Windows95/98/ME/2000/XP), access its TCP/IP properties. In the IP address boxes, type its four-octet address. The first two blanks will both contain the number "10". The third blank is used to identify all computers at that site. For instance, all IP address on computers at the Los Barrios Unidos clinic in Dallas start with 10.10.121.x, where the '121' identifies it subnet on the wide area network. The fourth octet is a unique number between (2 and 254) that identifies that specific computer.
