El Centro del Barrio dba CentroMed
This clinic was founded in 1973 and began delivery
of health services to the people of Bexar County in 1980.
This service area has been designated as a Medically Underserved
Area and a Health Professional Shortage Area. The clinic maintains
17 program/service delivery sites and provides services such
as WIC, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, substance abuse counseling,
mental health counseling, social services, family planning,
HIV/AIDS testing and counseling, health education, nutrition
counseling, and transportation assistance.
